The semi-rigid FIBRANgeo B-570 stone wool boards are a natural, inorganic, fibrous mineral wool thermal insulation material, industrially produced by melting and fibreising rocks, in accordance with European Standard EN 13162 (MW - Mineral Wool insulation product for buildings).

FIBRANgeo B-570 boards can be manufactured with a facing on one side, such as:

• AL (Aluminium foil reinforced with glass mesh)

• AX (Aluminium foil reinforced with glass mesh)

• YM (Black non-woven glass tissue)

• YA (White non-woven glass tissue)

• XA (Kraft paper)

These boards are specially designed for thermal insulation, fire protection and sound insulation, for applications:

In the cavities of vertical building elements, such as:

• Walls and wall linings with dry construction boards (e.g. plasterboard, cement board, wooden boards).

• Ventilated façades with marble, decorative brick, tile, metal panel and other cladding.

• In the core of double-leaf walls constructed on site (e.g. bricks, dry construction boards, metal sheets).

  
  

In the cavities of horizontal building elements, such as:

• Perforated or non-perforated dry construction suspended ceilings (e.g. plasterboard, mineral fibre, metal, wooden).

• On a horizontal roof slab beneath a tiled roof.

• Between the purlins or beams of a wooden or metal roof.

• Pilotis cladding with dry construction boards (e.g. exterior-grade plasterboard, cement board).

• Between the battens of wooden and raised floors.

  
  

Certification

The FIBRANgeo B-570 product is certified and tested in accordance with EN 13162 and EN 13172 standards. It bears the CE marking and is accompanied by a Declaration of Performance (DoP).

All FIBRANgeo stone wool products meet the quality and safety requirements of European Standards and comply with European Regulation 305/2011 (CPR).

Additionally, they are certified by the independent body EUCEB (European Certification Board for Mineral Wool Products), which ensures compliance with "Note Q" of Directive 97/69/EC, confirming that the fibres are biosoluble and that the products are not classified as hazardous materials.

Furthermore, according to European Regulation 790/2009, they are not classified as materials that cause skin irritation (R38).

FIBRAN implements an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and an ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System.

VOC Emissions

The concentrations of volatile organic compounds and other parameters specified in the AgBB scheme of the German Committee for the Health-related Evaluation of Building Products are below the permitted emission levels.

Application

FIBRANgeo products must be protected from getting wet before and during installation. If any part of the product becomes wet, it must be allowed to dry before installation. Stone wool materials dry quickly and, once dry, their thermal insulation properties remain unchanged. Their packaging should be carefully removed shortly before installation.

The work area should be kept clean. Unnecessary and prolonged contact of the skin and eyes with the product and dust generated from it should be avoided. Appropriate protective equipment (gloves, safety glasses, hat) should be used for protection.

Products with AL, AX, YM or YA facings are not recommended for applications where the operating temperature at the facing exceeds 90°C, while products with XA facing are not recommended for temperatures exceeding 66°C.

Adequate ventilation of the work area must be ensured, and cutting machines must be equipped with a dust extraction system.

Stone wool products are not classified as hazardous waste. They are covered by waste code 17.06.04 of the waste catalogue established by Decision 2000/532/EC and must be disposed of in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.
