MANUAL DECOMPRESSION VALVE: The decompression valve makes starting easier. When opened during startup, part of the compressed mixture escapes from the cylinder. This reduces the force required on the starter rope and protects the starting system.

LONG-LIFE AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM: During the pre-separation process, larger particles are removed from the airflow before they reach the filter. The HD2 filter traps even fine dust and keeps impurities away from the engine. This ensures longer engine life, extended cleaning intervals and easy maintenance. Only chainsaws equipped with both pre-separation and an HD2 filter can be defined as having a long-life air filtration system. Compared to conventional air filters, this system offers significantly longer filter service life.

MULTI-FUNCTION CONTROL LEVER WITH STOP FUNCTION: Simplifies operation. Only one start position is required on the multi-function control lever. After switching off, the control lever automatically returns to the operating position thanks to the stop function. A warm engine can be restarted immediately.

STIHL M-TRONIC: Reliable performance with optimal power output. STIHL M-Tronic provides the ideal engine performance right from startup. The fully electronic engine management system automatically adjusts ignition timing and fuel mixture in every operating condition, taking into account external factors such as temperature, altitude and fuel quality.

PERFECT COMBUSTION: Lower fuel consumption and high performance. Thanks to STIHL’s four-channel technology, the fuel-air mixture is guided into the cylinder in a targeted and compressed way through four transfer channels. This ensures optimal combustion of the fuel, significantly increasing engine efficiency while keeping fuel consumption low.

HD2 - NEW AIR FILTER: Increases service life. The HD2 filter protects the engine from even the finest dust, ensuring longer engine life and reduced wear. Made from PET material, it has up to 70% finer pores compared to fleece or polyamide filters and is also oil-repellent and water-repellent. This makes the filter easier to clean. When required, the filter cartridge can be replaced quickly and without tools.

STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM: For more comfortable operation. During machine use, vibrations are generated and become noticeable at the handle area. The STIHL anti-vibration system reduces the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle and to the operator. The result is a steadier machine and significantly reduced fatigue during work.

COMPENSATOR: Low maintenance requirement. A control system in the carburetor maintains stable engine power, exhaust quality, and fuel consumption, even as dirt accumulates in the air filter. The air filter only needs to be cleaned when a noticeable drop in performance occurs. This allows longer operating periods without maintenance.

SPROCKET COVER WITH CAPTIVE NUTS: Prevents loss of nuts. The nuts are fixed to the sprocket cover, making it impossible for them to fall off or get lost when removing the cover.

ADJUSTABLE OIL PUMP: Oil delivery according to demand. The adjustable oil pump reduces chain oil consumption by up to 50%. Select the "E" setting for standard use. For long guide bars or very dry wood, the operator can increase the oil flow as needed.

SIDE CHAIN TENSIONING: Enables easy and safe chain re-tensioning. The side chain tensioning system allows quick and secure adjustment of the chain tension, as well as easy chain replacement. The tensioning screw is accessed from the side through the sprocket cover.

STIHL EMATIC SYSTEM: Reduces oil consumption. The STIHL Ematic system consists of an Ematic or Ematic S guide bar, an Oilomatic saw chain and an adjustable oil pump. It ensures that chain oil is delivered precisely to the required lubrication points. This reduces oil consumption by up to 50%. When working in dusty conditions or with long guide bars, the oil delivery amount can be increased easily.

CARBURETOR PREHEATING SYSTEM: Ensures reliable operation even in winter. By preheating the carburetor, the chainsaw can operate reliably in low temperatures. The user can switch from summer to winter mode with a single step. Warm intake air flows around the carburetor during winter use, preventing it from freezing.

TOOL-LESS FUEL AND OIL TANK CAP: Enables quick and easy handling. The tool-less tank cap allows you to open and close the fuel and oil tank with minimal effort, thanks to the bayonet-style locking mechanism.
