The professional STIHL MS 661 C-M chainsaw is a powerful machine that delivers high and consistent performance. Equipped with the STIHL 2-MIX engine producing 5.4 kW (7.3 hp), the MS 661 C-M ensures outstanding performance, enhanced by the STIHL M-Tronic system. Its adjustable oil pump supplies the cutting attachment with the right amount of oil, making it suitable for long or extra-long guide bars.

STIHL M-TRONIC
RELIABLE WORK WITH OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE. With STIHL M-Tronic, your machine delivers optimal performance right from startup. The fully electronic engine management system adjusts ignition timing and fuel metering in every operating condition, taking into account external factors such as temperature, altitude, and fuel quality.

VARIABLE-OIL PUMP
OIL CONSUMPTION BASED ON NEED. The controlled-delivery oil pump reduces your chainsaw’s oil consumption by up to 50%. To use it, simply select position E. For very long cutting bars or very dry wood, the operator can set an additional oil volume.

HD2 – NEW FILTER
INCREASES LIFESPAN. The HD2 filter protects your tool’s engine even from the finest dust, ensuring longer service life and reduced wear. Made from PET material, the filter has pores up to 70% finer than fleece or polyamide filters and is also oil- and water-repellent. This also makes cleaning the filter easier. When necessary, the filter cassette can be easily replaced without tools.

STIHL EMATIC SYSTEM
REDUCES OIL CONSUMPTION. The STIHL Ematic system consists of a STIHL Ematic or Ematic S guide bar, a STIHL Oilomatic chain, and a variable-volume oil pump. It ensures that chain oil reaches exactly where lubrication is needed, allowing you to reduce oil consumption by up to 50%. If you frequently work in dusty conditions or use long bars, you can easily increase the oil quantity with the new oil pump system.

MANUAL DECOMPRESSION
FUEL-SAVING START. The decompression valve makes starting your machine easier. During startup, opening the valve allows part of the compressed mixture to escape from the cylinder. This protects the starting system and reduces the force required on the starter rope.

STIHL 2-MIX ENGINE
HIGHLY EFFICIENT AND POWERFUL. The STIHL 2-Mix engine reduces exhaust emissions, fuel consumption, and therefore operating costs. This two-stroke engine is designed for minimal maintenance and uses fuel efficiently even at high performance. A mixture of gasoline and engine oil is used as fuel. The STIHL 2-Mix engine meets the strict requirements of the European Stage V exhaust emission standard.

STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM
FOR MORE COMFORTABLE WORK. When your machine delivers power, vibrations are generated, particularly noticeable at the handle. The damping and suspension components of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to your hands and body. The result: Your machine feels smoother in your hands, allowing you to work with significantly less fatigue.

Only one start position is required on the combi lever. Thanks to the stop function, once the machine is turned off the control lever immediately moves back into the operating position. This allows a warm machine to be restarted immediately.

COMPENSATOR

This controller in the carburettor prevents the fuel-air mixture getting richer as the air filter becomes clogged. The correct quantity of fuel is delivered to the carbutettor depending on the quantity of air passing through the air filter. This keeps the fuel/air ratio in the combustion mixture constant and hence also the engine power. The filter doesn’t need to be cleaned until an appreciable drop in power occurs.
